His name is Tom. He is 2 1/2 month old and moved in with us just a week ago. We (already) adore him!

Impenetrable Castle, 2005
I discovered the work of Peter Callsen about a year ago or so.
I do visit his site from time, the same magic operates everytime!
I’m very interested in the creation from simple everyday objects that we hardly notice! by the research of simplicity which transforms something very ordinary into an art work without any sofisticated or expensive process.
Peter Callsen says that he is using mainly A4 paper. With very precise and meticulous cuts, he transforms a flat sheet of paper into a 3 dimensional figure.

The presentation of his work shows clearly the transformation of a flat form into a volume, presenting what has been cut form the original -the flat ‘absent paper’- turned into an object or a person.

Mario Mariotti … Hand Painting Illusion!

Mariotti’s work combines observation and creativity. With only paint, and in some occasion small accessories, he transforms his hands in animals, persons, or sportsmen in action, all very realistic.
On the occasion of the Football word cup, he creates ‘Hands Off!’, a book where we can follow a game of soccer with his fingers painted with the colours of the competing teams.
Mario Mariotti was an Italian artist who leaved in Florence. He published several books about his Hand painted work, such as ‘Hand Games’, ‘Hanimals’ or ‘Humands’

Le travail de Mariotti allie observation et créativité.
Avec seulement de la peinture et parfois des petits accessoires, il transforme ses mains en animaux ou personnes très réalistes et des sportifs en pleine action.
Ainsi à l’occasion de la coupe du monde de football, il crée ‘Faute de Main’, un livre dans lequel on peut suivre un match avec passes, buts, … avec ses mains peintes aux couleurs des équipes en competition.
Mario Mariotti était un artiste italien qui a vécu à Florence. Il a publié plusieurs livres sur ses ‘travaux de mains’, notamment ‘Mains’, ‘Animains’ ou encore ‘Humains’.
